Imba Woven Basket

With vertical stripes in a dark green hue, these beautiful Imba baskets are handwoven in rural Kenya from local sisal in three different sizes - one for virtually every home storage need! These green stripe baskets also make excellent woven planters for all types of houseplants

The women behind these Imba striped woven baskets practise this traditional craft within a small weaving group in rural Kenya.

Backing all the values of fair trade, The Basket Room work with weaving cooperatives empowering women to support their families with a flexible income in the dry seasons, where subsistence farming often fails to meet the needs of the family. When you take home one of these woven baskets you actively support the weavers and their families, furthering our commitment to dignified working conditions.
